About the museum: From stairwell to Erezaal; there is something beautiful to discover in every room. The beautiful Art Deco building from 1935, designed by the architect HP Berlage, is made to surprise you while wandering. In the halls, drenched in daylight, masterpieces by 20th-century icons such as Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Claude Monet, Constant, Francis Bacon and Louise Bourgeois come to life. It takes you past contemporary artists such as Panamarenko, Marlene Dumas, Frank Stella and Daniel Richter and colorful murals by Sol LeWitt. The Gemeentemuseum Den Haag has the largest collection of works by Piet Mondrian in the world.
